With its wider working edge, a wide chisel is ideal for removing material from larger surfaces such as floors, walls and ceilings. Typical applications include lifting and chiselling off coverings and coatings, for example removing old flooring, adhesive or plaster during renovation work.

Combined with a powerful F+K pneumatic hammer or chisel hammer, a wide chisel can also be used on concrete floors, to lift bonded linoleum and roofing felt, break up asphalt and screeds, and remove cement joints, rust and other protruding material.
